Well, I've finally decided that it's time for me to start blogging again...and regularly. I have so much to talk about, so I may as well start, right?
I'll use this entry to give a brief summary of what's been going on lately. I've been snowboarding nearly every weekend since the season started. Unfortunately, I've sustained a few injuries, but only one was serious enough to incur a visit to my doctor (who told me, "I'm not going to tell you not to snowboard, but don't reinjure yourself"). That injury involved my tailbone being the contact point between my flying body and a very large chunk of ice. Suffice it to say that I now get a little paranoid anytime I go near anything that looks like the remnants of a small avalanche.
I've been through three weightlifting routines since my last regular entry. The first was 7-Minute Muscle by Jon Benson. The second was one of Zach Even-Esh's early routines (before he went hardcore underground), which I found in some PDF of his (I'll dig it up later). The last, which I'm currently using, is Massive Arms by Rob Maraby. I'll review each of them in separate blog entries, but I will say this much--I'm really liking the Massive Arms routine (I just started week 2), but for the first time in my life, I HATE bicep day!
Jacob has been calming down a lot. He seems to be growing out of his puppiness now. He also started laying at the foot of the bed with his front paws hanging off the edge, which is really, really adorable. I'll have to get a pic of that sometime. Tyko has gotten more affectionate, too, but he still whines too much.
The weather here in western Washington has been very usual for wintertime. It's sunny outside right now (and raining in California, incidentally), and we have gotten far less snow than we usually do, though it snowed (in the city) last Monday--about an inch, and in a matter of hours. Add that to the ~18 inches we got almost overnight back around the turn of the year, and we've had some weird weather this season. Fortunately, the mountains haven't been awful, though they were certainly better last year.
Hmmm...what else... Work has been...interesting. Suffice it to say that some of what has gone on isn't really appropriate for me to discuss, but suffice it to say that I am still employed and definitely not disliking what I am working on, though it does keep me quite busy during the week.
I guess that's about it for my little summary. I'll starting adding some *real* entries as time permits.
